Not sure about a style for the pin?
  • Here are a few styles of pin production methods ...

SOFT ENAMEL WITH EPOXY
SOFT ENAMEL
Your design is stamped into metal (typically brass) and then paint is applied to the impression that the stamping process makes. The wet paint is then heated to cure it.
SOFT ENAMEL NO EPOXY
EPOXY OR NO EPOXY
Epoxy is a product added to the pin after the colour has cured in a SOFT ENAMEL pin. It has a clear dome which covers the face of the pin to protect the paint from wear. We typically suggest all soft enamel pins to include epoxy as it enhances the pins’ longevity.
HARD ENAMEL
HARD ENAMEL
is similar to the soft enamel process, except Hard enamel colours are actually made of ceramic and are melted into place as opposed to painted. Because these colours are actually fired ceramic, they don’t require epoxy and are considered better quality.
SILK SCREENED
SILK SCREENED
The design is printed on top of a base metal. It is very similar to how designs are printed on t-shirts. The method is perfect for finely detailed design.
3D
3D
This pin offers a level of detail and depth not attainable by a standard 2D die struck label pin. A 3D cast lapel pin will have multiple surface levels at various angles to create a 3-dimensional look and feel.

Not sure about the backing?
  • These are the standard pin backings.
  • Other pin backings are available.

BUTTERFLY BACKING
BUTTERFLY backing is one of the most popular backings. The back of the pin has a small prong attached, and when the butterfly clutch is squeezed and pulled up from the prong, the pin is released.
PUSH PIN BACKING
PUSH PIN backing has a thin needle with a collar that slides up and down the needle to secure or release the pin.
JEWELRY CLASP
JEWELRY is similar in design to a safety pin. A long pin prong tucks underneath a small hook or clasp to hold the pin in place.
